Fabric
A SDN network fabric is the physical network infrastructure, or underlay, on top of which the overlay network is created: it consists of switches, routers, wireless controllers and access points, which are configured via the SDN controller.
Fabrics use innovative protocols to build flexible and scalable networks. Several logical networks can be implemented on the same physical infrastructure, thus ensuring security and business continuity.
Segmentation
In Lantech Longwave’s SDN networks, traditional VLAN-based segmentation is improved upon and optimised using innovative Fabric protocols and VXLAN technology.
With SDN, the networkis divided into smaller logical segments, which makes communications more secure and provides greater scalability and flexibility than traditional networks.
Mobility
Lantech Longwave’s SDN solution enables user mobility, which means users can keep the same IP address regardless of where they connect, whether wired or WiFi.
Security policies are managed by the SDN controller and will follow users wherever they are.
Automation
The Integration with APIs, REST, HTTP, NETCONF and other methods allows complex networks to be managed in an easy and centralised manner, using automation, to facilitate the deployment of new configurations and the provisioning of new infrastructures.
